September 4 Alan Bevan has captured the Gold Medal at Inverness. G Geddes second and Calum Beaumont placed third.
Colin Lee Took the Silver Medal.
Alan, Calum and Colin are members of Simon Fraser University Pipe band, current World Cahmpions.

August 16- Simon Fraser University Pipe Band wins 2008 World Championships. Also, SFU Drum Corps won the Drumming in both MSR and Medley.

Keith Highlanders, Third in Grade 4B
White Spot Pipe Band, Sixth in Juvenile.

August 7- William (Bill) Logie Paterson, founder of the Bellingham Pipe Band and co-founder of the Bellingham Highland Games, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 16th, at Bayview Chapel (Lakeway & Woburn). In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name may be made to the Whatcom County Humane Society, 3710 Williamson Way, Bellingham, WA 98225; to St. Francis Extended Health Care, 3121 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98225; or to a charity of your choice.

The BC Pipers Association would like to apologize on behalf of the BC Highland Games for reading the grade 3 band result out incorrectly. The Portland Metro Pipe Band place first overall on an ensemble preference.

June 4-For those travelling to the Bellingham Games on Saturday from Canada, limited lane openings at Peace Arch has made for long waits. For solo competitors, please allow plenty of time. Early morning lineups have been lenghty and will only get worse as the summer progresses. Border waits at both Peace Arch and the Pacific crossing have been affected by the closures.

May 27- Congratulations to Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band and Robert Malcolm Memorial III Pipe Band on their success at the Costa Mesa Games this past weekend. Go to the RESULTS ABROAD page for a full breakdown.

Please note that errors were made in the announcement of the Grade 3 Pipe Band Competition at the closing ceremonies. The over all winner of the Grade 3 Pipe Band contest is Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band and the Best Drum Corp is the Robert Malcolm Memorial III Pipe Band. Please refer to the posted results for more details. The Victoria Highland Games Piping and Drumming Committee apologizes for the errors.

Because of a change in the system of compiling results, there will be unavoidable delays in posting to the BCPA site until the bugs can be worked out. The loss of one individual to other pursuits has made changes involving three people in the workflow where one handled the job in the past before the info got to the webmaster. BCPA apologises for any inconvenience. Every effort will be made to have the results available within 72 hours until further notice.
