The BC Pipers’ Association Annual Gathering (also known as the “Indoor Meet”) is held on the Friday and Saturday of the Easter long weekend each year.

The Friday features solo piobaireachd and Open drumming competitions, as well as drumming workshops.

Saturday events are the remaining solo events, a full band competition, and the Ceilidh afterward including performances by the solo aggregate winners.

Special Event: Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Pacific Rim Solo Drumming Championship

Hosted by the British Columbia Pipers’ Association (BCPA), this competition forms part of the new RSPBA International Solo Drumming circuit for 2023. This event is officially recognized and sanctioned by the RSPBA and will be conducted according to RSPBA rules and will be adjudicated by accredited RSPBA adjudicators. The winner of this event will receive the J. Reid Maxwell medal. Monetary prizes are sponsored by Tartantown and BCPA.

Special Event: CPA (Competing Pipers Association) Combined B&C Grades Piobaireachd Event

This event is officially sanctioned and recognized by the Competing Pipers Association. The event will be adjudicated by a BCPA or ANAPBA affiliated association “A” Certificate Piobaireachd Adjudicator, an adjudicator from the CPA Supplementary List of Judges or the Solo Piping Judges Association Adjudicators List.

Senior Adjudicator Drumming Workshops

The Senior Drumming Adjudicator will conduct workshops for snare drummers on the Friday at the Annual Gathering venue. Admission is. For details please see the current BCPA Annual Gathering Info Guide found here.

BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh

The BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh begins at the Annual Gathering venue immediately after the Saturday band contest and awards presentation. FREE admission.

Cash and credit cards will be accepted for purchases at the Ceilidh.

Band Contest Admission Tickets

Pre-purchase tickets until April 7 here.

Prices at the door will be higher. Cash and credit cards will be accepted on site for admission tickets.

For ages 11 and up, the cost is $10. Under 10 is free.

Competitors will be allowed in the back of the theatre to watch free of charge (must be in uniform, space permitting)
