Formed in February 2002, the Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band Society is celebrating 22 years with a special challenge coin for past, present members and supporters. In 2006 the organization received BC Societies Act status as a non-profit and have been very active in their community, performing in parades, festivals and community events. In 2014, they began an Adult Learning Program, teaching more than 20 adults to play the bagpipes and drums. The Pipe Band and Learning Program are most active October – June and meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Southside Community Church, 12642 100th Ave, Surrey, BC. To commemorate this milestone, Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band Society of Surrey, BC is offering a new Challenge Coin as a fund raising and collector item representing its 22-years of existence. The coin features the band crest on both sides. Challenge coins will be issued to current society members and anyone who has served a minimum of one-year as a piper or drummer, including students.
