The British Columbia Pipers’ Association is pleased to announce and welcome, Barrister and Solicitor, and piper, Alex Devitt has joined our BCPA team as Honourary Legal Counsel.

Alex Devitt is the founder of A Dev Law, a general service law practice that serves the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. 

Alex has always had a love for music and picked up her first set of bagpipes in 2005. She currently pipes with the Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band and the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. Alex has played at several international events, including the 75th anniversary of Operation Husky in Sicily, Italy, and the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in Vimy, France.

Alex graduated from Thompson Rivers University Law in 2018. She participated in the Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Negotiation Moot in her second year of law school, and was the researcher for the inaugural TRU Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot team in her third year.

After graduating law school, Alex moved up north to Fort St. John to practice family law and civil litigation. After three years, she traded in her snow boots for sunglasses and moved to the Sunshine Coast to practice real estate law. Alex founded A Dev Law in August 2022 and continues to live on the Sunshine Coast.

She is excited to combine her passion for law and pipe band and serve as the British Columbia Pipers’ Association honourary legal counsel.
