The BC Pipers’ Association family, along with the ANAPBA  family—of which the BC Pipers’ Association has been a proud member since its inception and early vision under Jeff Mann—are deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Jeff was an exceptionally approachable and kind man who truly valued, built, and nurtured relationships. He never missed an opportunity to say hello, to offer a kind word, or to share his big, jovial laugh. He loved piping, he loved music, he loved camaraderie and friendship, and he most certainly loved gathering people together.

That love of gathering was at the heart of who Jeff was, and it is why he was such a driving force behind Highland gatherings everywhere. He brought people together, he kept people together, and he did so with vision, warmth, and purpose. Jeff was a true visionary, and his impact will be felt for a long time to come.

He will be greatly missed, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends around the world—because Jeff’s reach was truly global.

On a personal note, I will miss the phone calls from Jeff throughout the year, no matter where I happened to be in the world. I would answer the phone and hear, “David? Jeff Mann here.” He always had a wonderful topic to discuss, and I always had time for him.

Jeff was a very caring person who gave his skills and support to many organizations and, through this, brought to fruition North American pipe band associations working together; for the betterment of pipers, drummers, and pipe bands of this continent.
