Our inaugural “North of 60” Pipers’ Club in February, 2025, was a great success for the many who attended. Interest has been rising for another evening. So here we are, ready for “North of 60” — 2.0.
Time to get your pipes going!
We’ll recap qualifications and rules(?):
Are you eligible for CPP? Haven’t competed solo for years? Or never competed? Want to get together with other old timers and have some fun playing pipes? Still love to play and don’t want to play in competition? Then we need you!
Put this on your calendar:
When: Sunday, February 15, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
Place: The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Armoury, Sergeants’ Mess/Anderson Room
Cost: Free admission for everyone (including those under 60!) The mess bar will be open. All are
invited, included our younger colleagues.
All “North of 60” pipers, not currently competing solo, bring your pipes and have a tune! Here’s what is
planned:
Every eligible piper (we will be checking ID!) will be encouraged to have a tune or two of whatever they
want — just for fun. Maximum 6 minutes from the time you blow up. Play anything.
This is NOT a competition.
Rules:
There are no rules.
But here’s the rules:
- Must be CPP eligible to play.
- No kilts allowed.
- Gracenotes optional — nobody will be counting.
- No recording without permission of the performer.
- Must enjoy yourself — there will be a test at the end of the evening.
We very much appreciate the kind hospitality and cooperation of The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada in providing such a spectacular venue for an evening of meeting our friends and playing pipes for fun.
