To the Members of the BC Pipers’ Association,
As we reach the height of our summer season, I want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate each and every one of you for what has been an outstanding stretch of games across British Columbia Piper’s Association, and indeed around the World.
The level of musicianship on display has been nothing short of inspiring. From soloists to full pipe bands, your dedication, preparation, and love for our craft have created an electric atmosphere at every event. The sense of camaraderie has been palpable, and it reminds us all why we do what we do.
We’ve seen record attendance—not just through the gates, but also among competitors and bands. It’s been especially exciting to welcome friends and fellow musicians from beyond our borders. The strength and unity of our community truly knows no boundaries.
As BC Pipers’ now look toward the games in the United States, I know we’ll carry that same positive spirit and infectious energy across the border. Music is a universal language that knows no borders and I have no doubt that our community will once again represent the very best of what piping and drumming can be—passionate, welcoming, and united.
To our friends and fellow competitors in Washington and Oregon State, we wish you great success in your events. We look forward to joining you, supporting one another, and continuing to build those cross border bonds that make this community so special.
To those still competing this season, best of luck—play well, play true, and enjoy every moment. For those who may not be taking the competition field, I look forward to catching up with you at our upcoming gatherings and celebrations. Come out and join me to cheer on your fellow musicians from the sidelines!
What would we be without all the wonderful volunteers that make these events happen ? A massive thank you to you all for what you do ! If you are interested- please consider donating some of your time in the future, it is very rewarding and welcomed. I know your local games and association would welcome you with open arms.
Thank you for all that you do to make this piping and drumming world such a vibrant and supportive place.
Warmest regards,
David Hilder
