Greighlan Crossing is a competitive Grade 3 pipe band based in Surrey, British Columbia. Formed in 2004 under the leadership of Pipe Major Graham Davidson. The band began as a youth development program and has since grown into one of the top competitive Grade 3 bands in Western Canada.
Now led by Pipe Major Jeff Rowell and Lead Drummer Curt Watts, Greighlan Crossing has about 30 members and competes regularly at local events, and recently set its sights on international prizes.
In 2024, Greighlan made its first trip to Scotland, placing 5th at the European Pipe Band Championships and earning 6th overall as well as Best Drum Corps World Champions in Grade 3A at the World Pipe Band Championships. The band also claimed the BC Pipers’ Association Grade 3 Grand Aggregate title for the 2024 competition season.
Greighlan aims to build on this momentum by continuing to invest in player development through world-class instruction. The band is preparing to take on the North American Championships in Maxville, Ontario later this summer. The band will have the pleasure performing Thursday, July 31 at the Byward Market in the 18th year of “B in the Market, an evening of Celtic excellence” before the Games start.
Off the competition field, Greighlan Crossing performs regularly at community events, parades, and Highland Games across BC and the Pacific Northwest.
