The BC Pipers’ Association has been the home to many great individuals who selfishly gave of their time and talent over many years to promote this century old organization. Today, their names and efforts continue to support piping and drumming through bursaries and awards set up in their memory, supporting player development and service to the piping and drumming community.

Mary MacKinnon is a good example. The award in her name recognizes an individual who over many years champions advancement and excellence in piping and the administration of piping. The Mary MacKinnon Memorial Service Award is one of the awards now open for nomination by members of the BCPA.
Neil O. Stubberfield was another long-time member of the Piobaireachd Club and BCPA benefactor. The bursaries in his name financially assist active pipers and adjudicators to advance their understanding or performance of piobaireachd.
The Brittany Angeltvedt Memorial Bursary financially assists tenor drummers in their pursuit of excellence.
Applications for these and other BCPA tuition bursaries are now open. Closing date for the spring intake is June 2, with awarding of bursaries on June 16. A second intake for these awards is held in the fall. The deadline for nominations for the Mary MacKinnon Memorial Service Award is August 31.
